Vienna Highlites

Here are some notes on Vienna from 1998. I was gathering them to answer an IdyllChat question - and thought - well why not post them at the Untours Cafe?

In Vienna we went to a Schubert concert at Schubert’s birthplace. This was our first use of the underground and trolley system and we found that we could figure it out after all. We took a t

What a pleasant surprise to check email first thing in the morning and find someone wants to be your friend! We are very excited to be taking our first Untour next June, and the Untours Cafe has been very helpful in our planning. Thank you Pete and Maggie!

Hi Pete & Magie:
This is the first time I have seen a n album of photos--one after another. Somehow your series of Vienna caught my heart; made me almost immediately resolve to return--this fall if possible. The asesthetic appreciation of the architecture aonnected to the intellectual experience of history--that's what I rember about my own trips to this city. I alsway s thought of it as a cliche: "the music cpital of Europe--until I actually visited the city. Thanks for pointing me backto Vienna.

Hello! Wish Anne and I were somewhere between Lucerne and Meiringen right now. Instead, work beckons next Monday at 8:30. (Work screams at Anne next Monday at 7:30.) No pictures yet... We are in the woods, with dialup.

Ciao Pete and Maggie! It's really nice having your "positive vibes" about my travel sketches. Actually, in the "Untours 2007- Winter Edition with Inside Untours," on pp. 12-13 there's an article I wrote about Italy, along with two sketches (and pix of Sally and me) . . . If you by chance still have that issue, please do read my comments about the Italians' "passion for perfection" . . . Fun!

And, the photo of me painting by the ocean was taken in Cambria. Cheers, Bob

So happy to be added to your friends' list, Pete and Maggie. I've long enjoyed your photography and just recently you helped me out with some questions I had on our May trip to Spain. It was another winner. Your Priego shot above brings back wonderful memories! I'm loving this new Untours site - especially all the incredible photos and videos. Keep on blogging!

Thanks for asking me to be your friend! I've been reading and participating a little in Idlychat for years and have gotten so much information whenever we are researching an Untour trip. I know I'll have lots of Switzerland questions for our trip next year.
