Profile Information

What is your favorite place in Europe so far?
Italy
Where would you most like to go next?
Anywhere I have not been!!
Tell us about one of your favorite places to stay on an Untour. Do you have a favorite host? Apartment? Village?
We have enjoyed all of our apartments. I love having my own space that becomes "Home."
Do you have any special interests or hobbies that you follow when you travel?
Travel is one of my hobbies; meeting new people and seeing new places is an integral part of that. My husband and I like being involved in other cultures.
What is the funniest thing that happened to you on an Untour?
In Venice our apartment was on La Giudecca. We found a little pastry place we had coffee/tea every afternoon with the same English speaking waitress. She told us they would be closed on Wednesdays and we asked what would we do? She said we would just have to come to her house. We were tempted but did not.
Which Untours have you already done?
Paris, Prague, Germany--Rhine River, Greece--Nafplio, Venice
What advice would you give others considering an Untour?
Definitely do it. There is no downside as far as we are concerned. We love everything about Untours.
What is your favorite Untour? (so far)
Venice

China and Tibet, Mrch/April, 2007

When discussing our next trip after our Venice, Italy Untour in May of 2006 my husband said he thought it was time we did something more exotic, like China. I said if I was going to China I wanted to go to Tibet also. Tibet is one of those places, like Mount Everest, that has fascinated me and I never expected to get to either. We survived Tibet and still do not expect to get to Everest!

China is a puzzling place and Tibet is mystical. We have traveled to Spain; Florence, Italy; Prague…

That's a great story about the waitress. Isn't it amazing how kind and open people can be? People like that keep me believing in human beings!

Welcome to the Untours Cafe... and getting to know more people.

Enjoyed your blog about your trip to China. I've made that trip twice, the last time doing a Yangtze
River cruise two years ago and ending in Hong Kong, one of my favorite places. Hope you were able to get to Xian, as the terra cotta figures are just
beyond description.
Have just done Venice for 2 days as part of a cruise.
Hope you will be my friend.

Untour Venice must be fabulous. I would have been thrilled to sleep in the train station there, just to be in that fabulous city, but I did have a nice hotel for 3 nights. Not the same as an apartment, though. Jean, your photos tug at my heart to return....after Greece!

Thank you so much! My daughter and I had a terrific time when we were there for Easter this past April. Greece was her fifth Untour and I believe her favorite!
Take care! Sincerely, Marianne
