Tell us about one of your favorite places to stay on an Untour. Do you have a favorite host? Apartment? Village?

Harriet Gussoni, the Untours site rep in Tuscany, deserves special mention, if not a medal.
Do you have any special interests or hobbies that you follow when you travel?
Putting one foot in front of the other brings us up close and personal to beautiful scenery, interesting people and some unique memories.
Which Untours have you already done?
Swiss Bernese Oberland, Heartland and Ticino
Italy - Tuscany and Rome
Greece
What advice would you give others considering an Untour?
Plan. It's part of the fun. We put together a two-week itinerary of the hikes that we plan to do, places we'll visit, etc. Of course, all that will change once we arrive. If a local festival is scheduled, we will attend. Weather and other opportunities (often discovered during the orientation) will also change our plans. Getting up in the morning and saying, "What shall we do today?" is fine. But having a few activities in mind fuels the anticipation.

Since a full leg brace prevents me from doing a whole lot of walking over rough terrain, we search for relatively flat trails. When we spot a beautiful photo shot either down in a valley or high up close to a waterfalls, my husband does the trekking, takes photos and returns to share them with me. Meanwhile, I entertain myself by completing my daily journal, or writing out some postcards to be mailed when we return home, or chatting with other travelers. In some instances, I become the photographer by taking a shot of those that ask me to do so. Whose knows, maybe one day we might be chatting with you on a Swiss trail.

We have not done Switzerland yet and I havee a friend working on her doctorate in Geneva. Our first Untour was several years ago but I had studied in Perugia, in Umbria in 1986.
My husband and I traveled to Florence, renting an apartment , before I found out about Untours. ow we have made 5 Untour trips. Love them.
Guess you are in Switzerland now. Hope it is all wonderful.

I don't know why your comments of 2007 are suddenly appering on my computer, but re the para gliding-- GOF FOR IT! My grandson video-taped my flight in 2003 and the VCR is one of my treasures. Recently, on my 90th birthday I was taken for a powered parachute flight by a friend who owns one. Bob
