Vienna Highlites

Here are some notes on Vienna from 1998. I was gathering
them to answer an IdyllChat question - and thought - well why not post them at
the Untours Cafe?

In Vienna we went to a Schubert concert at Schubert’s birthplace. This was our first use of the underground and trolley system and we found that we could figure it out after all. We took a t

Hi! I enjoyed seeing your photo after reading all your helpful comments on Idyllchat for so many years. We've corresponded several times.
My grandson helped me set this 'cafe' up today so I'm just learning here.

So happy to be added to your friends' list, Pete and Maggie. I've long enjoyed your photography and just recently you helped me out with some questions I had on our May trip to Spain. It was another winner. Your Priego shot above brings back wonderful memories! I'm loving this new Untours site - especially all the incredible photos and videos. Keep on blogging!

Hi Pete & Magie:
This is the first time I have seen a n album of photos--one after another. Somehow your series of Vienna caught my heart; made me almost immediately resolve to return--this fall if possible. The asesthetic appreciation of the architecture aonnected to the intellectual experience of history--that's what I rember about my own trips to this city. I alsway s thought of it as a cliche: "the music cpital of Europe--until I actually visited the city. Thanks for pointing me backto Vienna.

Pete and Maggie:

Leiden, Holland is so pretty and so easy to learn how to get around and the stores and shops so easy to get to. The trains are amazingly on time and go anywhere you need to go and if they don't the buses do. We went in early April when the tulips where in full bloom and we where just amazed at the beauty and the well managed countryside. The airport is one of the nicest and easiest to get around of any in Europe. The trains run right under the airport terminal.
