Believe it or not, I have just read your blog (June 9, 2009) and enjoyed every word of it. Brought back many memories of Switzerland and, of course, meeting up with you and your family. What fun! Maybe we will meet again.
Loved your video! We have been to Meiringen and loved it. Where did you stay? Your pictures and video brought back so many memories - the music, the food, the mountains and, of course, the Swiss.
That is hard for me to answer. All are special but believe that I really love Switzerland.
Where would you most like to go next?
We are travelling with another couple to Provence, France in September. When the Untour is finished, we usually say "which one will we take next?" and we go from there.
Tell us about one of your favorite places to stay on an Untour. Do you have a favorite host? Apartment? Village?
A favorite village was Reuti, Switzerland.
Which Untours have you already done?
The Heartland, Oberland, Austria, Holland, Rhine, Provence
What advice would you give others considering an Untour?
First, listen to what others have to say on the Idyllchat. Valuable information! And then try it! You will go back for more!
What is your favorite Untour? (so far)
I would choose Switzerland (so far) because we can still hike
Welcome Welcome to our café! You will so enjoy Provence in September. Don't miss the Sunday market at Isle-sur-Sorgue. And I can't wait to see your photos when you return!

Hi again, so glad you liked the dessert that we had in Meiringen--- it was huge, meringue and 2 scoops of ice cream and topped with whip cream!!! Delicious
Enjoyed your photoes and would like to hear more about your trip to Provence. All fall, I kept thinking about the wonderful trip we had last year (and great weather). Where did you stay? Go? Was it what you expected? Would you go back? To where? Or to see what?
Hi Bert and Idabell. I'm not sure if you remember me but you had sent me a video of the apartment you stayed in Frutigen because I was going to stay there also. I wanted to thank you and I hope you have enjoyed your travels since.
We were just in your lovely state last month for the first time. We spent a week near the White Mountains at an Elderhostel. We truly enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
yes we were part of a big family there were 9 of us a family reunion. My brother's family stayed in the apartment you're speaking of. It would have been July of 2001. Does that sound like the right time? It's a small world
On the way to Switzerland, my luggage on the outside was ripped apart. Didn't have a chance to report this until I got home and then I waited a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, you have only 7 days to report damage and the airline doesn't budge. Swissair called a couple of days ago to discuss this and also to say the same thing they had already told me in an email message.......about being denied. So only give yourselves 7 days.
I am now going thru Travel Insured. I called and they told me to send in the report even tho their 30 days are up.
I stayed in the Steiner in Frutigen apt. and my sister and husband stayed in in the same apt. that you sent the video of.
My brother and family stayed in the apartment you spoke of in Kandersteg.
My first Untour trip was the Heartland and was also amazing. I found that the connections were a bit quicker than the Oberland, got hung up waiting for connections in Spiez alot so we would often have a glass of wine by the cafe next to the train station in Thun, but I would do either one again in heartbeat.
We went to Tuscany for the last tour and was also breathtaking. Are there other tours you would recommend? I think I would like to try Vienna or maybe Venice.
Hi Bert and Idabell, as I look at the date I realized how longs it's beennsince I've been on here.
I'm looking for advice for a 1 week untour. week and I am torn between
Vienna and Paris. I;m wondering which is the easiest to get around without a car. Have you been to either place? any advice would be appreciated.
thanks
