Tell us about one of your favorite places to stay on an Untour. Do you have a favorite host? Apartment? Village?
Have always stayed with the Greuterts and will keep doing it.
What is the funniest thing that happened to you on an Untour?
When we saw the Greuterts 5 year old grandson on our first trip in 1998. He was decked out in all University of Tennessee Orange clothes and that is my Allma Mater located in our original home town of Knoxville. Turns out it was because Vance Roy is his Godfather. Love coincidences.
Which Untours have you already done?
Four times to the Swiss Heartland. 2009 will make it five
What advice would you give others considering an Untour?
Get on with it. After the first one you will be hooked and you won't need any advice.

New Cheese Making Trip a Winner

Kudos to Connie Sullivan for finding and starting a new cheese making trip location at Glaubenbielen Jänzimatt out of Giswil. It is operated by a charming family, farmer Adrian Riebli, wife Heidi, and four children, one below school age which we met. We were in the first official trip today. Our return to the Swiss Heartland is started.

Tuesday 6/16/09 - Since our plane from Washington Dulles does not leave till 6:00pm we should be able to sleep late and have a relaxing day. So, what the heck, we are up and awake at 4:15am!! We are through security and at the gate aout 3:30pm and sitting on the plane by 5:30pm. Reading "Heidi" created a dream finally fulfilled

Marian is a friend and neighbor. One evening we were talking about our upcoming trip to Switzerland to start the middle of May 2008. She told us that after reading "Heidi" at nine years old she had two dreams. One was to have a daughter named Heidi, which she does, and the other was to actually visit Switzerland which she had not. First attempt so will get started

All over the world Bloggers are Blogging and Twitterers are Tweeting so I thought we should try our hand at joining the noise. At least this is a site where we can talk about one of our favorite subjects and leave notes about a trip we are on or some trip in our past.

Hello, Marge and Bill. Of course I know who you are. Bob and my mom spoke/speak of you often! I am sorry that we will be passing each other in the airport. Our flight arrives in Zurich at 15:45 on July 15. This is likely to be a very memorable summer: My 13-yr-old-son, Bill, leaves on July 6 for Japan (week + jr high exchange program); my 11-yr-old daughter, Mary and husband leave for cross-country train trip to Chicago and then to Memphis for a week; my 18-yr-old-son, Charles, leaves for Boot Camp in Chicago for 8 weeks and then to "Nuke School" with the Navy. In there somewhere I'll be in Sachseln for two weeks with my mom. I am looking forward to seeing Albert - and visiting Berit's grave. It's nice that that their beautiful cemetary is so close to home. Hope to see you in the airport! Carol
