I think the ideal thing to take is a heavy sweater and a coat with a removable liner. I do not remember it as being freezing cold, but a damp cold and wind can be pretty uncomfortable. The upper elevations of the Alps will probably be cold with snow…

Welcome to the Untours Cafe! I hope you'll enjoy hanging out here as much as I do. Sit back, relax, and take a few moments to look at some of the amazing photos and videos people are uploading. Or check out some of the really interesting discussions in both the forum and our destination pages.
If you are looking for some content in particular the Search box in the upper right, and the “Help” tab are good ways to get started. We love to be of help so don’t hesitate to ask us (either via email or on the forum) if you have trouble with anything. There are plenty of really friendly people who will be glad to lend a hand! We're still trying to figure out how to serve you some coffee or tea through the computer screen, but in the meantime, have fun!

Welcome to the Untours Cafe! I hope you'll have as much fun here as I do. Take your time and explore some of the photos, and videos. If you like, you can even post a question or start a discussion in our forum.
Are you interested in traveling to a specific place? Do you already have a favorite Untour? To connect with other Untourists going there (or who also just love it), join a destination group! If you have a question (or just something to say) about a specific Untour, each destination has its own forum.
When you have a chance, fill out some of the questions in your profile so that others can learn a bit more about you, and you can also set up a picture of yourself for your page to personalize it a bit. It helps us put a face to the name.
If you run into any problems or have any question, you can send me a message or ask my colleagues, Marilee, Sue, & Kim. We're here to help!
PS I have some pictures up of Austria as well, your photos bring back some really great memories!

I would love to look at your pictures - Where can I find them? I started to look at the Photos link in Cafe but gave up after 15 pages. I'm not worried about the weather - if I wake up and it is raining I will get out my umbrella-take a train to Linz-or go hang out at the local coffee shop. Thanks for your encouraging words!! Blanche

- I just finished looking at the album of your shots. There us also a comment from the Slide Show under that page. What camera are you using - I am interested as I have A Nikon SLR but plan on taking my Nikon point and shoot. The SLR is very heavy and I only use it for slides for jurying for shows. i hope you know how much I appreciate and admire your photos. Blanche

- Fortunately our upcoming Untour to Salzburg Austria is our second Untour - the first being to Swiss Obelrand in 2002. We loved the experience and finally got the $$$ to make
this joourney. Now I am going to look at the Lumix and photo composition to add to my store of knowledge. I will post some of my photographic views from this upcoming trip in October this year on Untours Cafe. Thanks for your time, advice and encouragement- it has been a pleasure, BB

- Hi Al Just wanted to let you know that I did a little research on the Panasonic Lumix. It is an awesome camera. I actually recommended the Lumix to my brother -in -law that he use this camera in his work as an industrial engineer. He has acquired one Actually I would love to have one myself. Maybe at Christmas....Blanche
