I travel through Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) every year, usually going to Florence for
the Tuscany South Untour, and allow about 3 hours to get from Terminal 2A or 2C to
Terminal 2D for the flight to Florence (and vice-versa). A recent check with the CDG
home page on the internet indicates there are free red shuttle buses providing connections
between the Terminals every 6 minutes during peak hours (5 a.m. to 8 p.m.). They leave
from Terminal 2A, Exit 10, and from Terminal 2D, Exit 12. Passengers arriving at 2C must
walk the short distance to 2A to catch the shuttle.

It would be most helpful if there are any Untourists who have used these shuttle buses and can verify this information. Or perhaps someone on the French Team could let us know
if this is correct. Also, how long does it take to get from 2A to 2D on the shuttle, and vice
versa? It sure would be helpful if that long walk could be avoided!

Oh, CDG, everyone's favorite airport! I must admit, I pass through almost once a year, but I always feel like I have to figure it out again each time I land there.

Yes, there are shuttle buses that run between the gates, but they are not always the fastest way to transfer. You will wait for the bus, and it goes in one direction, so it is often faster to walk in between than to do the loop all the way around. Here's a printable map so you'll see what I mean:

There is a new feature on the Air France website where you can enter your terminals and get instructions for the fastest transfer: http://www.airfrance.com.au/AU/en/local/guidevoyageur/aeroport/aero...

I hope these resources will help you!
Buon viaggio!

Wonderful information, Andrea! The 2nd item is the most help, since it works for two of the gals
going with me next month - but it won't work for me! I'll be flying on American from DFW non-stop
to CDG, and the choices for the city of departure doesn't include Dallas! Hard to believe.
Another gal will be flying with me on American and we each know a flight attendant with AA,
so will have to ask them what Terminal AA now uses. It has been using Terminal A but it may
have switched to Terminal E now that it has reopened - if so, it sure would be a lot easier to
get to Terminal D for Florence.

Here is another great site for people not traveling with Air France to see where airlines arrive/depart: http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/Adp/en-GB/Passagers/Departs/Destinat.... Looks like AA arrives in 2A.

And FYI, there is a relatively new automatic train called CDGVAL that whisks people between terminals 1. 2. and 3. I just flew on USAirways and we arrived in the old terminal 1. The CDGVAL took us very quickly to terminal 2 to the train station. Now if only they had this train between all the concourses in 2!!!

You have not been helpful at all, Kim! I checked that site you sent and, as you indicated, AA
still arrives at 2A. I don't like that one bit - really makes it difficult getting to 2D.
